OF WEEDS AND WHEAT

Print Friendly and PDF
This article was be difficult to write.

Partly because it is so controversial. Partly because there must be "something to it" because there is so much scattered information available in the Bible about it, yet the information is not completely conclusive.

And, partly because there aren't very many people who are objective enough, or balanced enough to handle it properly once they've seen it.

Anyone who jumps straight into reading this without having prior knowledge and understanding of the teachings of the articles:
Angels
and Trees
will not be aware of the foundational information this article rests on; and therefore will almost certainly reject it without ever actually "seeing" it.

Theologians have known about much of this information for hundreds of years. Other scholars and Bible students seem to have become aware of it only recently.

As I peruse the internet, I see those who stumble across it for the first time. They are overwhelmed by it, and jump on the band wagon trumpeting their new found truth as if no one has ever heard of it before. It becomes the "gospel" that they feel obligated to yell from the roof tops.

Others, upon hearing of it for the first time, make an immediate judgment to denounce it vehemently. They too see this as a personal responsibility to create their own "gospel" and mission to denounce it.... to stomp it out.

I really do not have to cover the subject here at all. However, I am a grown up, and I believe that my readers are grown ups too. You can do with it what you wish.

It may help to understand the world we are currently living in, and the one that is to be operating just prior to the return of Christ. Besides, I didn't come across it by reading someone else's writing. I noticed it myself in personal Bible study some 20 years ago. Only later did I see others have been aware of it also.

Seeing it is a progressional thing. Therefore, read slowly. Endeavor to see each concept before moving on.

Remember: Those who develop a true spiritual maturity do not use their understanding to belittle, judge, or hurt others. It's just something we know. Something additional that allows us to see even more clearly the great scope of the plan of God.

So,  here we go:
In the beginning part of Matthew, chapter 21, we read of the people giving Jesus the honor due to an arriving dignitary. They spread their garments on the ground before him as he enters Jerusalem riding on a donkey. They then follow along behind him, praising him as they go.

Once in town, he went to the Temple and drove out those doing business in the temple saying,
"It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer;
but ye have made it a den of thieves."

Shortly afterward, he healed blind and lame people who came to him.

This thoroughly riled the chief priests and scribes. The verses actually say they were "sore displeased" with the honor Jesus was receiving; and "sore displeased" with how he seemed to "assume" he had authority to do such things when they were the ones who represented "GOD" to the people.

They asked, "Do you hear what these people are saying" ?

Jesus answered, "Yes ; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?"

He was quoting what King David had said, as recorded in Psalm 8:2; a scripture they knew very well.

Who on earth does he think he is, they wondered, as he went on along teaching those that followed him.

This confrontation was becoming a matter of who was in authority.

They thought they'd confront the issue head on. So they asked point blank, "By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?"

Now notice, the subject is "by what authority are you doing these things, and, how did you get it in the first place"?

This question involves both what and how.

Here's how Jesus responded: (verses 24 - 27)

"And Jesus answered and said unto them,
I also will ask you one thing,
which if ye tell me, I in like wise will
tell you by what authority I do these things.

The baptism of John, whence was it?
 from heaven, or of men?

And they reasoned with themselves,
saying, If we shall say, From heaven;

he will say unto us, Why did ye not
then believe him? But if we shall say,
Of men; we fear the people;
for all hold John as a prophet.

And they answered Jesus, and said,
We cannot tell. And he said unto them,
Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things."

The whole subject of this confrontation so far is, just WHO is this Jesus, and HOW did he get to be in charge? This matter filled the minds of his attackers, and those standing around witnessing it.

Then suddenly, Jesus launches into a little story, a couple parables. This story is not changing the subject. It is explaining it to those who have ears to hear. (verses 28 - 43)

FIRST PARABLE
"But what think ye?
 A certain man had two sons;
and he came to the first, and said,
Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

He answered and said, I will not:
but afterward he repented, and went.

And he came to the second,
and said likewise. And he answered and said,
I go, sir: and went not.

Whether of them twain did the will of his father?
They say unto him, The first.
Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you,
That the publicans and the harlots go
into the kingdom of God before you.

For John came unto you in the way
of righteousness, and ye believed him not:
but the publicans and the harlots believed him:
and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not
afterward, that ye might believe him.

SECOND PARABLE
Hear another parable:
There was a certain householder,
which planted a vineyard, and
hedged it round about, and digged a
winepress in it, and built a tower,
and let it out to husbandmen,
and went into a far country:

And when the time of the fruit drew near,
he sent his servants to the husbandmen,
that they might receive the fruits of it.

And the husbandmen took his servants,
and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

Again, he sent other servants more than the first:
and they did unto them likewise.

But last of all he sent unto them his son,
saying, They will reverence my son.

But when the husbandmen saw the son,
 they said among themselves, This is the heir;
come, let us kill him, and let us seize
 on his inheritance.

And they caught him, and cast him out
of the vineyard, and slew him.

When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh,
what will he do unto those husbandmen?

They say unto him, He will miserably destroy
those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard
 unto other husbandmen, which shall
render him the fruits in their seasons.

Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read
in the scriptures, The stone which the
builders rejected, the same is become the
head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing,
and it is marvellous in our eyes?

Therefore say I unto you,
The kingdom of God shall be taken from you,
and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof."

In these parables, Jesus clearly is dividing people on earth into two categories. Notice that much for now. We will come back to these two parables, but for now, let's look at another place where Jesus addresses this same subject. It's found in John 8:43 - 44.

"Why do ye not understand my speech?
even because ye cannot hear my word.

Ye are of your father the devil,
and the lusts of your father ye will do.

He was a murderer from the beginning,
and abode not in the truth,
because there is no truth in him.

When he speaketh a lie,
he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, a
nd the father of it."

Notice that Jesus referred to the Devil as a "father"

Think about that.

Jesus gave a parable about "seeds" in Matthew 13. He compared the world to a garden in which the seeds that were sown represented the two categories of people as previously mentioned in this article. Jesus spoke only in parables to the general public. He never spoke in plain, easy to understand words unless He was alone with his disciples.
(Matthew 13: 34)
"All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:"

His disciples once asked Him why He spoke this way. And, He answered: (verses 10-14)

"And the disciples came, and said unto him,
Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

He answered and said unto them,
Because it is given unto you to know
the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven,
but to them it is not given.

For whosoever hath, to him shall be given,
and he shall have more abundance:
but whosoever hath not, from him shall
be taken away even that he hath.

Therefore speak I to them in parables:
because they seeing see not; and hearing
they hear not, neither do they understand.

And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias,
which saith, By hearing ye shall hear,
and shall not understand; and seeing
ye shall see, and shall not perceive:"

Now back to the parable of the seeds. The original Greek word for "seed" used here means "offspring". Having sent the general public away, Jesus proceeds to explain it to his disciples in verses 35 -39.

"That it might be fulfilled which was spoken
by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in
parables; I will utter things which have been kept
secret from the foundation of the world.

Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into
the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying,
Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

He answered and said unto them,
He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

The field is the world; the good seed are
the children of the kingdom; but the tares are
the children of the wicked one;

The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the
harvest is the end of the world;
and the reapers are the angels."
  (Matthew 13: 35-38)

The bible is speaking of the "seed of the devil", his children being present at the end of the world. But, did you know it also speaks of them from the beginning of the world?

"And the LORD God said unto the woman,
What is this that thou hast done?

And the woman said,
The serpent beguiled me,
and I did eat.

And the LORD God said unto the serpent,
Because thou hast done this,
thou art cursed above all cattle,
and above every beast of the field;
upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust
shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

And I will put enmity between thee
and the woman, and between thy seed
and her seed; it shall bruise thy head,
and thou shalt bruise his heel."
(Genesis 3: 13-15)

From the beginning, we're told Satan
has "offspring .... he has seed.

And, remember he was a murderer , and the father of murderers, from the "beginning".

"Why do ye not understand my speech?
even because ye cannot hear my word.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." (John 8: 43 - 44)

Cain was the first murderer. He was the illegitimate offspring of the Serpent.

"Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one,
and slew his brother.

And wherefore slew he him?
Because his own works were evil,
and his brother's righteous."
(I John 3:12)

The word "of" in the verse above shows where Cain came from, just as the apostle Paul claimed to be "of "the seed of Abraham, and "of" the tribe of Benjamin.

"I say then, Hath God cast away his people?

God forbid. For I also am an Israelite,
of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin."
(Romans 11:1)

Satan attempted to prevent the bloodline of mankind from being purely human. He attempted to destroy the means, through which a Savior would come into the world. And, by the time of Noah, the entire bloodline had been modified. Only Noah was found to be "perfect" in his generations (genealogy).

"There were giants in the earth in those days;
and also after that, when the sons of God
came in unto the daughters of men, and they
bare children to them, the same became mighty
men which were of old, men of renown.

And God saw that the wickedness of man was
great in the earth, and that every imagination
of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

And it repented the LORD that he had made
man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom
I have created from the face of the earth;
both man, and beast, and the creeping thing,
and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me
that I have made them.

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

These are the generations of Noah:
Noah was a just man and perfect (undefiled)
in his generations, and Noah walked with God." Genesis 6: 4-9)

There was a time during the beginning of this world when the sons of God took human women for their wives. This resulted in offspring that were not purely human. They became known as Nephilim, Zumim, Raphim, Anakim, and others. Goliath was of that strain, as was Og.

Many of them were of super-human strength. Many were actually giants from 7 to 15 feet tall. Having six fingers and six toes was a trait commonly found among them.

But, wait a minute!
Could Satan actually be called a "son" of God?

Well, let's research the scriptures a little. First of all, there was a time when called his sons together, and guess what?

Satan came among them!

"Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them." (Job 1: 6)

In the prophecy of the coming Christ, Isaiah 9:6 refers to Jesus Christ as a son. Here, the word "son" is translated from the original Hebrew word "ben". Here is the original Hebrew definition of it as taken directly from Strong's concordance # 1121:

1121 ben bane from 1129; a son (as a builder of the family name), in the widest sense (of literal and figurative relationship, including grandson, subject, nation, quality or condition, etc., (like 1, 251, etc.)):--+ afflicted, age, (Ahoh-) (Ammon-) (Hachmon-) (Lev-)ite, (anoint-)ed one, appointed to, (+) arrow, (Assyr-) (Babylon-) (Egypt-) (Grec-)ian, one born, bough, branch, breed, + (young) bullock, + (young) calf, X came up in, child, colt, X common, X corn, daughter, X of first, + firstborn, foal, + very fruitful, + postage, X in, + kid, + lamb, (+) man, meet, + mighty, + nephew, old, (+) people, + rebel, + robber, X servant born, X soldier, son, + spark, + steward, + stranger, X surely, them of, + tumultuous one, + valiant(-est), whelp, worthy, young (one), youth. see HEBREW for 01129 see HEBREW for 01 see HEBREW for 0251

It means just what we think it does, a son, a literal and figurative relationship, including grandson or nation. It can even mean daughter since the basic meaning is to be one's "offspring". One's "seed." Here's the verse in Isaiah referring to Jesus Christ:
[Isaiah 9;6]
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Here's another verse in Isaiah referring to a "son" that is not Jesus Christ. This son is referred by the exact same Hebrew word, "ben", as Jesus is:
Isaiah 14;12
"How art thou fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!

how art thou cut down to the ground,
which didst weaken the nations!"

As we ponder this information, let's travel back to Genesis chapter three. I will include my comments in plain text throughout the verses.

"Now the serpent was more subtil than any
beast of the field which the LORD God had made.

And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said,
Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Here we see Satan being described with reptilian features.

Notice it doesn't say snake as some portray, it says
"serpent" which is translated from the Hebrew
word "Nachash" which simply means to hiss.

It is defined in Strong's concordance as a "divine, whispering enchanter."

This has nothing at all to do with a snake. However, Satan must have reptilian characteristics because he is referred to as such in several places.

The book of Revelation refers to him as the "dragon."

At any rate, he is considered Elohim (divine as in Nahcash, a son
as in Isaiah 14;12), and he is an easy talking enchanter.

The word beast, as used in verse one, simply means living creature.
And the woman said unto the serpent,
We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst
of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it,
neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

Notice that it did not seem unusual to Eve that this Nachash was speaking to her, as one might be, if they heard a sound and looked down to see a "snake" talking. In fact, she began to have a conversation with him.
                                          (Genesis 3: 1-7
"And the serpent said unto the woman,
                                  Ye shall not surely die:

For God doth know that in the day ye eat
thereof, then your eyes shall be opened,
and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

And when the woman saw that the tree was
good for food, and that it was pleasant to the
eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one
wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did
eat, and gave also unto her husband with
her; and he did eat.

And the eyes of them both were opened,
and they knew that they were naked;
and they sewed fig leaves together,
and made themselves aprons."

What does eating an apple have to do with hiding one's nakedness with aprons? Satan, and his rebellious band of brothers and sisters is the Tree of the Knowledge of good and Evil mentioned here. But it was Satan specifically that was approaching Eve here, as the others did in chapter six of Genesis.

See the article TREES.

He was the tree that was offering the "fruit" to Eve. The website :http://www.serpentseedline.com/ has some good definitions concerning many of the words used in the verses above. Here are a couple:

"The phrase fruit of the tree is Hebrew word # 6529 periy- fruit, in a wide sense: a) fruit, produce (of the ground), or b) fruit, offspring, children, progeny ( used of the womb), or figuratively c) fruit (of actions).

The phrase eat of it is Hebrew word #398; 'akal (aw-kal'); This word has many uses, among which, one use means to lay with a woman (which is a sexual act) touch is Hebrew word # 5060; naga` (naw-gah'); Properly, to touch, ie: to lay the hand upon (for any purpose); euphemism for: to lie with a woman."

" This was obviously no ordinary tree, in fact it wasn't a literal tree at all it was Satan himself!

The phrase pleasant to the eyes = Hebrew word #2530; chamad: To desire, to covet, to take pleasure in, to delight in, to be desirable, to delight greatly, to desire greatly, desirableness, preciousness.

The word desired = Hebrew word # 8378 ta'avah (tah-av-aw'); from 183 (abbreviated); to yearn for, to lust after (used of bodily appetites) a longing; by implication, a delight (subjectively, satisfaction, objectively, a charm): a desire, a wish, longings of one's heart; lust, an appetite, covetousness (in a bad sense), to covet, to wait longingly.

To make one wise = Apple trees don't make you smart but Satan can give you forbidden knowledge.

The word took = Hebrew word # 3947 laqach (law-kakh'); a primitive root; to take (in the widest variety of applications): to take, to lay hold of, to receive, to marry, to take a wife, to take to or for a person, to procure, to get, to take possession of, to select, to choose, to take in marriage, to receive, to accept."

The author, Sherry Shriner goes on to explain it in plain words, and I simply cannot make it any plainer. So, here it is in Sherry Shriner's own words:

" Here is what really happened in the garden of Eden: Eve lost her virginity to 'the serpent,' whom was that 'Tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the midst of the garden,' and who is none other than Satan himself.

By the way, I haven't seen the word 'apple' mentioned in these scriptures yet, have you?

You won't either, nowhere in God's Word does it say that Adam and Eve ate an apple! Yet we see modern religious paintings showing Eve holding an apple. Why?

Because it makes for good symbolism and makes a better story to hide what really happened.

Adam also partook of this 'forbidden fruit.' Satan is a super-natural being possessing supernatural powers, thus he can appear to Adam and Eve as two different things (beings, entities) if he had wanted to.

Eve partook of the fruit of Satan, and then gave it to Adam and he ate of it...in other words, she was seduced by Lucifer to have sex with him, then she had sex with Adam and introduced Adam to the act of sex.

She was impregnated and conceived by the serpent first, then she conceived a second time from Adam.

It is believed and not medically impossible that Eve got pregnant by both Satan and Adam at the same time and thus went on to bear twins (Cain and Able).

"Simply eating an apple does not do this to anyone! Fruit does not make one aware or conscious of whether they have clothes on or not.

"And they heard the voice of the LORD God
walking in the garden in the cool of the day:
and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the
presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

And the LORD God called unto Adam,
and said unto him, Where art thou?

And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden,
and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked?
Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded
thee that thou shouldest not eat?

And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to
be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

And the LORD God said unto the woman,
What is this that thou hast done?

And the woman said,
The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

In Strong's, #398 the term "eat" means to eat, also to lay. The term "touch" in Strong's is #5060 which means naga, to touch, also to have sexual intercourse. Both terms had and have sexual connotations to them.

Beguiled used in this text is the same as "seduced." Furthermore, Scripture says Cain "was of that wicked one" he was a son of Satan's through the seduction of Eve.

The term "of" is the same that means offspring. Neither is Cain listed anywhere in the descendents of Adam which strongly indicates Cain was not his son.

The official beginning of the wheat and the tares began with Eve. The wheat AND the tares.

The tree of knowledge was the means to sexual knowledge they received from Lucifer. Knowledge is to "know." Knowing means to perceive, experience, learn.

It is also used as an euphemism of "to know someone" sexually as when Adam "knew" his wife. The terms eat, touch, and know are often used in Biblical lingo for sexual relations.

Lucifer was the way of knowing good and evil. He was the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil because through him they would learn evil, they would perceive evil, and they would experience it."

End of Quote by Sherry Shriner

It's not commonly known that a set of twins can actually have different fathers, but they can. Here is a DNA testing medical site that has an article on it. LINK. This phenomenon has been dubbed in medical literature as heteropaternal superfecundation.

Now we must not get all bent out of shape over hearing this information. Everything in creation has come from God. He really IS the father of all. Therefore, we do have a kinship with everything else in creation.

By instruction from the Father of the Elohim, the One who eventually came to earth as Jesus Christ created all things visible and invisible (Colossians 1:16) And, by that act, Jesus too fills the office of fatherhood.
(Isaiah 9:6)
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:

and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father
The Prince of Peace."

Who knows how the bloodlines may be mixed by now? However, the Nephilim had certain characteristics beyond what could be seen. They were extra intelligent. They were self-motivators. They rose to the top in the societies around them. They naturally became the leaders.

Today, they probably don't even know who they are! But, it seems they will be directly involved with politics and war at the end of the age.

Revelation 3:9
"Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan,
which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie;

behold, I will make them to come and worship
before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee."

And also in Daniel 2: 43-44
"And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay,
they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men:
but they shall not cleave one to another,
even as iron is not mixed with clay.

And in the days of these kings shall the God of
heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed:
and the kingdom shall not be left to other people,
but it shall break in pieces and consume all these
kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever."

Our job is not to go out and point fingers at people saying, "you're descended from the Nephilim ..... you're a child of the Devil." Had our great-great- grandfather done such a thing, we might be surprised to find him pointing with six fingers!

Our job is to watch current affairs, keep faith, and live by the one law (love) of God that produces the fruits of the Holy spirit listed in Galatians 5: 22-23.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:
against such there is no law."

Before closing, let's go back and look at the first two parables discussed in this article. Read them again, and see if now you can read with more understanding.

FIRST PARABLE

"But what think ye? A certain man had two sons;
and he came to the first, and said, Son,
go work to day in my vineyard.

He answered and said, I will not:
but afterward he repented, and went.

And he came to the second, and said likewise.
And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

Whether of them twain did the will of his father?
They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them,
Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the
harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

For John came unto you in the way of
righteousness, and ye believed him not:
but the publicans and the harlots
believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it,
repented not afterward, that ye might believe him."

The first son's "will" was not the same as the father's in this parable; and he wasn't afraid to express it.

However, his character was such that he discarded his own will that his father's might be done.
One cannot help be reminded of Jesus, who expressed a similar trait. Jesus' will did not always reflect the will of God the Father. Nevertheless, when it was time to take action, He always did the will of the Father over his own. Here's the example that comes immediately to mind:

"And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast,

and kneeled down, and prayed,

Saying, Father, if thou be willing,
remove this cup from me:
nevertheless not my will, but thine,

be done. And there appeared an angel unto
him from heaven, strengthening him."
Luke 22:41-43

Satan, on the other hand, may even appear to be doing the exact will of God,while, in fact, he is a masquerading deceiver.

"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers,

transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed

into an angel [messenger] of light.

Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also

be transformed as the ministers
of righteousness; whose end shall be
according to their works."
II Corinthians 11:13-15

SECOND PARABLE

"Hear another parable: There was a certain householder,
which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about,
and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower,
and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:

And when the time of the fruit drew near,
he sent his servants to the husbandmen,
that they might receive the fruits of it.

And the husbandmen took his servants,
and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

Again, he sent other servants more than the first:
and they did unto them likewise.

But last of all he sent unto them his son,
saying, They will reverence my son.

But when the husbandmen saw the son,
they said among themselves, This is the heir;
come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.

And they caught him, and cast him out of
the vineyard, and slew him.

When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh,
what will he do unto those husbandmen?

They say unto him, He will miserably destroy
those wicked men, and will let out his
vineyard unto other husbandmen, which
shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read
in the scriptures, The stone which the
builders rejected, the same is become the
head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing,
and it is marvellous in our eyes?

Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom
of God shall be taken from you, and
given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof."

In the world there are wheat and tares (weeds). In the end, all will be saved, and that includes Satan himself.

Colossians 1:19 - 22

"For it pleased the Father that in him
should all fulness dwell;

And, having made peace through the blood
